SweetH20 Race Information

2008 SweetH20 Race Results - 50K and Half-Marathon results

river crossing during the Sweet H20 50KSweetwater Creek State Park offers winding, moderately difficult trails in and around the park, following the lovely rapids of Sweetwater Creek, and venturing past Civil War-era textile mill ruins.

The 50k crosses the creek twice - you WILL get wet.

The Half-marathon runners will not endure the creek crossing.
(But, what fun is that???)

The race will have a strict, eight-hour cutoff and the course will be officially closed after at 3:00 pm. Intermediate cutoffs of 3.5 hours at 15.5 miles and 6.5 hours at 25 miles will be enforced. Those who do not make the checkpoints in the allowed times will be removed from the course.

All finishers will receive a special Finisher's Award. All you have to do is finish!

Awards for Top 10 overall; 1st place masters & grandmasters. No duplication of awards.

Trail Descriptions and Elevations

Elevation Map example

The trails of Sweetwater Creek State Park are well maintained, but vary from smooth and easy, to rugged and technical. There are four main trails in the park, Red, Blue, Yellow and White blazed trails. The SweetH20 races utilize all of the trails in the park, including some area outside the park nicknamed Top of the World (TOTW) and Powerlines. These areas are where runners will find some of the more challenging terrain.

This is a beautiful, very special place to run. To learn more about the elevation, terrain and wildlife of each of the park's trails, please see the detailed trail map PDF icon provided by the Sweetwater Creek State Park.

SweetH20 50K Course Description

The course descriptions are broken down into three individual PDF documents . This course is not a "loop course" in the traditional sense of round and round the same loop, instead the loops are run once each and are loosely connected sections of separate trails.
